The objective of this site is to present the state of the art in Dickinson studies in Brazil and, possibly, in Portugal and other Portuguese speaking countries, making available information about the reception of Emily Dickinson’s literary work, including translations, books, articles in scholarly journals, magazines and newspapers, theses and dissertations, conferences, etc., in addition to contributions which might be of value to readers and scholars. In this case, the person concerned should contact the e-mail below.
We hereby register our recognition of the pioneering work of the American scholar George Monteiro (Brown University), who was a Fullbright Professor at the University of São Paulo (1969-70) and started the bibliographical survey of both primary and secondary sources related to Dickinson’s work among us. We are also grateful to the Brazilian poet, translator and bibliographer Vinicius Dantas, to the Portuguese professor and scholar Maria Helena de Paiva Correia (University of Lisbon), and to the Brazilian poet and translator José Lira, whose assistance was of invaluable importance in the realization of this project. We also thank our webmaster Neide Leiko Takemoto Matsumoto, who always helped us with promptness and patience.
Credit will be given to all those whose contributions are accepted, including the identification of possible errors or omissions.
